Countless different substrates have been bonded with adhesives since 4,000 B.C., and potential applications are limited only by the imagination of the assembler.
Modern structural adhesives offer assemblers versatility, reliability, ease of use and the ability to join a broad range of similar and dissimilar materials. They bond parts made of virtually any metallic or nonmetallic material, and are often the only practical way to join parts made of dissimilar materials. Many assemblies could not be cost-effectively produced without this ability of adhesives to bond dissimilar materials.
