It was hard to figure what was more improbable, Washington State making all 28 of its free throws or center Aron Baynes making his lone three-point attempt.
Considering the free throws set a Pac-10 record, those will be the lasting memory. However, it is safe to say the Cougars felt more confident each time a player stepped to the line than they did the moment the 6-foot-10, 250-pound Baynes drilled his desperation three-pointer in the second half that helped the Cougars beat Oregon 74-62 Saturday at McArthur Court.
