The alarm rings at 6:15 a.m. The buzzing jars you awake, but you're determined not to give in. You roll over, trying to sleep for just five more minutes. After all, you went to bed only six hours earlier. But your alarm continues to buzz and buzz until you have to get up.
Sleep is a precious thing, and not just because lying in a warm, soft bed is comfortable and relaxing. Without a proper amount Of sleep, a person can't function properly. Sleep allows your body to rest, repair itself, and recover from your stressful daytime activities--which can be anything from algebra homework to saxophone lessons to basketball practice.
