Apr. 8--Act III Theatres is building a state-of-the-art eight-screen theater on the south end of Columbia Center mall in Kennewick.
Plans are to open the 2,000 extra-plush seats - complete with cup holders - in time for the Thanksgiving or Christmas movie releases, said Randall Blaum, Act III's director of advertising.
Dubbed "Columbia Center 8," the new theater will be attached to the mall near Starbucks. It is to replace the existing four-screen cinema, which is in a separate building on the opposite side of the mall.
