NEW YORK, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The chamber of commerce of restaurants in Mexico, Camara Nacional de la Industria Restaurantes y Alimentos Condimentados (CANIRAC), proclaimed The Original Margarita, made with tequila, Cointreau and fresh lime juice, the official drink of Cinco De Mayo (May 5), a holiday which commemorates the battle of Puebla and has come to symbolize the strength and patriotism of Mexicans. Isaac Finkler Resnik, president of CANIRAC, signed the official document in Mexico City on February 24, 1997, in honor of Cinco de Mayo, which is celebrated throughout the world with Mexican festivals, dancing, Mexican food and margaritas.
