Jan. 31--The Shackshakers have been bumping into plenty of women named Donna the past two weeks. And they've been playing to audiences of fans wearing poodle skirts, clunky dark-rimmed glasses and cuffed jeans.
The Twin Ports-based variety band is visiting five of the venues from the Winter Dance Party tour that featured Buddy Holly, the Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens -- and that ended just after midnight Feb. 3, 1959, when the performers' plane crashed in Clear Lake, Iowa.
The Shackshakers are a featured act in the "50th Anniversary of the Last Tour" and are backing Tommy Allsup, who was part of the original show 50 years ...
