Motor Mouth admits that the term "ecofriendly SUV" sounds like an oxymoron, but the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid actually manages to pull it off.
Updated for 2009 with a larger engine and other tweaks, this hybrid (base price: $29,645) combines all of a gas-powered Escape's comforts with roughly 14 mpg of better fuel economy.
Motor Mouth recently checked out the $31,395 Escape Hybrid Limited, the model's new upscale trim line.
On the outside, the Escape Hybrid Limited offers classic Ford small-SUV accoutrements: A big grille, a medium-sized hood, standard six-spoke aluminum wheels and large folding side mirrors.
