Chi-Dooh Li's argument against "bus rapid transit" makes no sense to me (Thursday). He says we should reject it because bus service was overloaded during the cold spell. Most major lines were running. The buses were late and overloaded by the overwhelming number of people who use the bus only as a last resort. I was happy to see those people join the rest of us. However, I am disappointed to learn that anyone would use the overloaded conditions as a reason to oppose more bus service. What feature of rail transit would prevent it from being overloaded under the same conditions? Will that system be 50 percent underutilized under normal conditions? Will the rail lines be ...
