Later this month, the U.S. Senate is likely to vote on ratification of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), a treaty that would bar the production and stockpiling of chemical weapons by the countries that ratify it. As humane as ``banning'' chemical weapons may sound, the Senate should not ratify this treaty. The CWC will neither ``ban'' chemical weapons nor prevent their proliferation or use.
In fact, it will make it more likely - not less - that our sons and daughters in the U.S. military will some day face a chemical attack.
