S AN CAVANAGH believes those who hailed him as the best footballer in the country last year got it wrong.

Apart from picking up a third All-Ireland medal with Tyrone in the autumn, Cavanagh hoovered up every individual award that mattered, having been named as the All-Star, GPA and Texaco footballer of the year. However, he believes those awards should have gone to the team's midfielder Enda McGinley.

'Honestly, hand on my heart, I thought Enda was the most consistent player we had last year right through. If you watched the games in the McKenna Cup and league and championship he was probably one of the big differences ...
