WE'RE enduring the coldest winter since 1995 - but nature's still in something of a hurry, it seems.
Despite the hard frosts, subzero temperatures and icy winds, the first signs of spring are already here.
Birds are building nests in Oxfordshire, butterflies are searching for pollen in Lichfield, Staffordshire, ladybirds have been spotted in Northern Ireland - and the first frogspawn was discovered before Christmas.
But although we may welcome the early signs of warmer weather, experts say there's a sinister explanation - global warming.
