Introduction

In recent years, the relationship between expert systems usage and user motivation has been considered in a number of empirical studies (e.g., Burton, et al., 1993; Byrd, 1992; Markus and Keil, 1994). The findings of these studies suggest that the usage of an expert system is likely to be motivated by the job performance benefits that a user expects to realize.
