The garment, textile industries and other sectors vulnerable to the global economic crisis are expecting more layoffs to come with closures and the slowdown in the operations of several companies nationwide.
In a recent tripartite meeting held at Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC), Boy Arpafo, a clothing textile industry leader, said that after letting go of 5,000 workers, the garment industry still expects the number of layoffs to double in the coming months.
