DALLAS and MEXICO CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 1997--Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst Incorporated, of Dallas, a leading private investment firm, and Grupo MVS, S.A. de C.V. ("MVS"), one of Latin America's leading telecommunications companies, today announced that Hicks Muse will invest $120 million for a minority equity interest in MVS. All of the proceeds of the Hicks Muse investment will be used by MVS to repay the Company's existing indebtedness and for capital expenditures to support expected growth, especially in MMDS (multichannel multipoint distribution systems) and direct-to-home satellite TV broadcasting.
