THIS FALL, HOUSE BEAUTIFUL WORKED WITH DESIGNER SUSAN FERRIER AND THE DEVELOPERS OF THE LAUREL, A LUXURIOUS NEW HIGH-RISE CONDOMINIUM IN MANHATTAN, TO CREATE THIS SHOWHOUSE APARTMENT. THEIR "CLIENT": AN ATLANTA COUPLE WHO WANTED A NEW YORK PIED-A-TERRE. THE RESULT: A STARK WHITE BOX TRANSFORMED WITH INTRIGUING SHAPES, SENSUOUS TEXTURES, SOOTHING COLORS.
CHRISTINE PITTEL: You'd never know this was a brand-new condo. It has all the shadowy darks and lights of a Vermeer. How did you create that effect?
