CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Rite Aid Corp. in May plans to close a distribution center located in Bohemia, N.Y.
Rite Aid acquired the facility in June 2007. It was one of six distribution centers that the chain picked up along with its acquisition of about 1,800 Brooks Eckerd Pharmacy stores from the Jean Coutu Group.
The deal gave Rite Aid 14 distribution centers, but the retailer said at the time that once it completed the integration of the Brooks Eckerd stores into its store network, it would look for opportunities to consolidate the activities of its distribution centers.
