PSCU Financial Services, one of the nation's largest credit-union service organizations, last week launched a campaign to help member credit unions promote contactless debit cards to existing and potential customers, especially those that fall into the Generation Y age demographic.
But PSCU's campaign comes at a time when there are conflicting industry views about whether contactless technology benefits consumers and merchants. Some credit unions believe offering contactless payments will help persuade Gen Y consumers to select them for their financial services instead of banks.
