Plastic Flow software simulates extrusion
Plastic Flow LLC has released a new software package to simulate polymer extrusion, called polyXtrue.
The software is useful for extrusion die designers, with a module for design of coextrusion and monoextrusion.
President Mahesh Gupta said the complex geometry of the coextrusion feed block has slowed the coextrusion market. But polyXtrue is based on a full, three-dimensional simulation of the polymer flow, made possible by a newly developed computer technology called mesh partitioning.
