While the state's four-year high school graduation rate improved for the second year in a row, the graduation rate at many Central Massachusetts schools remains below the state average.
Those schools range from places such as David Prouty, in the Spencer-East Brookfield School District, which barely missed the state average to South High Community School in Worcester, where a program that serves special education students for longer than four years helped depress the school's graduation rate.
