PVA was a proud sponsor of the 2008 World 9-Ball Championship for Wheelchair Players, on December 3-5, 2008, at the Sands Regency Casino Hotel in Reno, Nev. This major championship was conducted at the same time and alongside the 2008 World 9-Ball Championships for Junior Boys and Gifts.
The World Pool-Billiard Association, the official world governing body for billiards, authorized the United States Pool Players Association to organize these events in collaboration with the Billiard Congress of America and the National Wheelchair Pool-players Association (NWPA).
