The parents of a man who collapsed on a central Auckland street and later died have called for anyone with information about his death to help the police investigation.
Edward Hinchcliff, 24, suffered a brain aneurism after collapsing near the intersection of Hobson and Victoria Sts about 2.45pm on Thursday.
He was the son of former Auckland City councillor and AUT president John Hinchcliff and his wife Laurie, and nephew of Sir Geoffrey Palmer.
Dr and Mrs Hinchcliff last night issued a brief statement thanking everyone who had sent support and condolences at such a difficult time.
