Apr. 21--Orange County appears to be in a prime position for growth in California's revved-up economy.
That was the analysis of economists Friday after Orange County posted a 3.2 percent unemployment rate for March, down from 3.4 percent in February and 4.2 percent a year ago.
"I think even if the national economy slows down in the coming months, Orange County will continue to grow," said Anil Puri, chairman of Cal State Fullerton's economics department.
Over the past 12 months, the county has added 29,900 jobs, a 2.5 percent increase, according to state Employment Development Department. Services led the way with 12,400 more jobs.
