THE North East's flair for food was celebrated last night as a host of restaurants won coveted culinary awards.
The cream of the region's eateries took the plaudits as the annual North East Restaurant Awards were presented to our most accomplished chefs.
Sponsored by The Gourmet Society, a dining promotions company which has more than 4,000 members, a glittering ceremony at The Sage Gateshead hailed this year's high achievers.
