ONE of the great perks of high Government office is to go gallivanting across the world to mark St Patrick's Day in style in some farflung exotic clime.
But Tourism Minister Martin Cullen - who has in the past marked March 17 at taxpayers' expense in places such as Hong Kong and Atlanta - might as well stay at home this year.
He yesterday announced his constituency of Waterford will host this year's St Patrick's Day Skyfest fireworks spectacular.
Mr Cullen will see the fireworks light up the sky of his native city on March 14 when the St Patrick's Day celebration is held outside Dublin for only the second time.
