The moderate majority of the Screen Actors Guild's national board has declared unequivocally that embattled national exec director Doug Allen must go.

"We firmly believe that SAG needs a change of course and a new captain," the group said in a message sent to SAG members early Monday.

The timing of the next chapter in SAG's seemingly endless civil war remains murky. The moderates did not elaborate on their next steps, which may include securing the written approval of the majority of the guild's national board to oust Allen.
