You can make a simple pair of mittens using about 5 ounces of worsted weight yarn. Make them all one color or create stripes by using up small leftover portions of yarn. I use Red Heart "Super Saver" acrylic for these because it washes well and will not shrink, but any worsted weight yarn will work. You will need size 5 and 7 needles, two large safety pins or stitch holders, and two stitch markers or small scraps of contrasting color yarn to use as markers.
Adult size
Using worsted weight yarn and size 5 needles cast on 31 stitches. (You will need about one skein of yarn, approximately 4 or 5 ounces.)
