Apr. 22--Water fills most of the streets in Grand Forks, making mail delivery inaccessible. Water was eight inches from the base of one of the loading platforms at the Grand Forks Post Office on Monday.
Gloria Hauge knew mail wouldn't be delivered in Grand Forks. Still, the local post master asked that all available employees report for duty Monday morning; a work force of 10, approximately 75 fewer than the normal number, showed up, sorting the mail that Grand Forks ships to 50 other post offices in northeastern North Dakota.
