A mid the frenzy of rumours surrounding the potential merger of UAE airlines Emirates and Etihad, the fact that Abu Dhabi has already established itself as the new powerhouse of UAE aviation and aerospace has gone largely unnoticed.
Through its state-owned investment company Mubadala Development Company, Abu Dhabi spent the second half of 2008 assiduously making deals with the giants of the international aerospace and defence industries.
