WHRO Channel 15 and WTVZ Channel 33 have won federal approval to drop their analog signals Tuesday.
President Barack Obama and Congress recently approved pushing the federal deadline for all stations to switch to digital broadcasts from Feb. 17 to June 12. Stations that still wanted to cut off their signals Tuesday had to apply for approval from the Federal Communications Commission by Monday.
Late Wednesday, the FCC published a list of stations that it said had to meet additional requirements. Those stations not on the list, including WHRO and WTVZ, can turn off their analog signals Tuesday.
