Northrop Grumman officials are urging the Air Force to launch a new upgrade program for the B-2 that would modify a variety of avionics systems in the stealth bomber.
"We're hoping to address in the '98 time frame additional monies to do enhancements to the communications, low-observability [stealth] and defense-management [systems]," Margaret Calomino, a Northrop Grumman B-2 program official, told Defense Daily in an interview Wednesday.
The upgrades if adopted by the Air Force would be part of an ongoing Northrop Grumman-Air Force Multistage Improvement Program aimed at making sure the B-2 is in step with new technology that is "running fast and furious," ...
