ATLANTA--Apr. 28--It's a natural question: Given that President Clinton lauded UPS for its welfare-to-work programs in his State of the Union address, what's it doing here, in its hometown?
Not much -- not yet, anyway. And that's not quite the answer the package delivery giant hoped to be giving three months after the president's speech.
It hasn't been for lack of trying, though. Since mid-February, UPS and the National Alliance of Business have been pushing Georgia's government and nonprofit agencies to help them come up with a better answer.
