May 1--Universal Fasteners Inc. has officially opened a new 98,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Centerville on a 95-acre farm purchased for industrial development.
The plant will be home for UFI's line of Snapet closures and for other fastener products as well. The original plant will remain the primary site for button production, according to Mark Mizumoto, company president.
