Apr. 29--Thomson Consumer Electronics' first foray into a murky new market that melds televisions with personal computers -- PC Theatre -- hit the market Monday in a half-dozen cities.
Indianapolis retailers probably won't stock the combination of a high-resolution RCA television and a Pentium-powered PC until this fall, according to Thomson officials.
The set, an offspring of a partnership between Indianapolis-based Thomson and computer giant Compaq, initially will sell for a pricey $4,995.
It is being sold first in cities with computer-minded demographics:
Dallas, Denver, Houston, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington....
