Angelina Jolie stars in this true-life horror story as telephone operator Christine Collins, whose 9-year-old son Walter goes missing in 1920s Los Angeles. Months later, police reunite Christine with a boy who falsely claims to be her son. Police brush aside her objections, forcing her to take him home to "try him out."
As Christine's desperation mounts, the corrupt police officer in charge of the investigation incarcerates her in a psychiatric facility.
