IIT Kanpur prof wins first Infosys math prize
Bangalore, Feb 16 (PTI) -- A professor of IIT Kanpur has bagged the first Infosys prize in mathematics for his work on complexity theory.
This branch of mathematics and computer science is concerned with the study of algorithms for solving mathematical and related scientific problems and especially their efficiency and running times, said a release here today.
The award - Infosys Prize for Mathematics - has been instituted by Infosys Technologies Ltd and the National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS).
