Women who dye their hair, even if they've dyed it for decades, have no greater risk of multiple-myeloma cancer than women who don't, says a new study coauthored by a University at Albany professor.

"The take-home message is encouraging," says Erin Bell, assistant professor in the department of epidemiology in UAlbany's School of Public Health. "We saw no association between hair dye and myeloma, nothing that says you should stop dying your hair."
