Monday My colleague, Devan Kaloo, and I arrive in Nairobi in the blazing sunshine. It is a relief from London's bitter cold, and frankly I just love getting out and seeing potential investments. As bottom-up investors there is no substitute for meeting managers to understand their businesses better, and as this is our first trip to Kenya, it is a bit of an adventure as well. We have three meetings scheduled and of the three, Lafarge subsidiary Bamburi Cement seems worth doing more work on - it offers exposure to growing infrastructure spending, which is a problem judging by the pot-hole riddled roads.
