GRAND FORKS, N.D., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- U S WEST Communications (NYSE: USW) employees were back on the streets of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks for the second consecutive day Wednesday after meeting with 1,094 customers and leaving informational material for 1,112 more during a block-by-block sweep of flood-stricken neighborhoods on Tuesday.
Today, teams of technicians -- many of them brought in from other states to help with the flood-recovery effort -- began a block-by-block sweep to restore phone service where it's still out.
