Last Wednesday, the President signed into law the Children's Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA) of 2009. The law reauthorizes the State Children's Health Insurance Program or SCHIP for 4.5 years at a cost of nearly $60 billion. NLC strongly supported its passage.
In a letter to Congress, NLC urged that the bill be adopted and sent immediately to the President for his signature.
