May 2--A 453-room, world-class Westin Riverwalk hotel broke ground downtown Thursday the same day as the historic and exclusive Havana Riverwalk Inn opened its doors to show off a major restoration.
Both San Antonio River properties are part of the growing development of underutilized portions of the River Walk that make the city one of the hottest destinations in the country.
Westin Hotels & Resorts and partners Silver Rio Limited Partnership have put $50 million behind the hotel at the corner of Market and Navarro streets. Seattle-based Westin has 104 hotels in 23 countries and 18 in development.
