COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--May 7--Downtown Colorado Springs is taking on some distinctive flavors, as Mediterranean, Japanese and California-Mexican restaurants prepare to open.
Primativo, a wine bar and restaurant that will offer Mediterranean dishes, 300 wines, 100 single-malt scotches and 10 to 15 brands of cigars, is scheduled to open the first week of June at 28 S. Tejon St. The building formerly housed a Walgreen's drug store.
Owners Troy Nelson and Alan Manley are creating an Italian bistro atmosphere and plan to serve cuisine from Spain, the South of France and North Africa. The chef will be David Tannaccio of Boston.
