COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--May 7--Continental Airlines said Tuesday it will end nonstop flights between Colorado Springs and Newark, N.J., and reduce daily flights between here and Houston from five to three on July 1.
The move comes just two days after Colorado Springs-based Western Pacific Airlines said it was discontinuing nonstop, round-trip service to 12 of its 17 destinations -- including Newark and Houston. Those changes take effect June 29 to free aircraft in WestPac's 15-jet fleet for its expansion to Denver International Airport.
