Though billed by the gallery as solo shows of these Minnesota-based artists, Kelly Connole's presentation of sculptures and Monica Reede's display of paintings played off each other to a particular effect. Both featured elements of the human body along with animal subjects; both seemed, in their respective ways, secretive, and thus to have a dark quality that contrasted with the spacious, sun-flooded storefront.
Reede's paintings (dated 2006 or '07) are oil, graphite and Plexiglas on wood (she has also worked with beeswax, chalkboard and aluminum ...
