ATLANTA, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- CIBA Vision Corporation today announced that it has reached an agreement with private plaintiffs' class counsel and 26 state attorneys general to resolve separate antitrust actions filed in Jacksonville, Florida, regarding the company's former sales policies concerning alternative channels of distribution for contact lenses.
CIBA Vision's decision to resolve these actions was based on a determination that the cost and disruption to the business that would be required to litigate and ultimately prevail against the unfounded claims raised in the lawsuits outweighed the cost of settlement.
