In just five days Carl Niehaus has lost his highly paid job, his luxury home ... and his reputation.
Yesterday he resigned as an employee of the ANC, but stressed he would remain a loyal member of the party.
His resignation came just ahead of the ANC throwing him out.
Earlier the national working committee placed its former spokesperson on special leave and was deciding whether to charge him in terms of its own disciplinary code.
