PHOENIX, May 14 /PRNewswire/ -- America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA) today was ranked number one in customer satisfaction among the nine major U.S. carriers for flights of 500 miles or less in this year's Airline Customer Satisfaction - U.S. Flights Study conducted by "Frequent Flyer Magazine" and J.D. Power and Associates.
America West's improved product, operational performance and customer satisfaction helped raise its study ranking for short flights from number three last year to number one for 1997.
