FORT WAYNE, Ind.--May 13--The Terre Haute airport's caution about financing an air-cargo facility expansion and its distance from Chicago and Detroit might have cost it the American International Freight hub.
That's how Charles J. Goodwin, airport director for the Hulman Regional Airport Authority, assessed AIF's plans to move to Fort Wayne International Airport on Monday.
AIF, an air-cargo operation, has been at the Terre Haute airport since the fall of 1995. A $33.5 million facility is expected to be ready for the carrier at Fort Wayne International Airport late in 1998.
Until then, AIF will continue operating out of Terre Haute.
