HIGH POINT, N.C. -- Buyers shopping for metal beds at last month's market found a wealth of new finishes with a decidedly vintage appeal.
From the high end to the low end, the emphasis was clearly on sophisticated finishes sporting a weathered or burnished look.
At Largo, those finishes ranged from aged bronze and brushed gold to antique alabaster, as well as an Old World color called golden glaze. While the firm's best seller remains a verdigris sleigh bed, Dick Yargus, Largo's vice president of sales and marketing, says the company is slowly but surely shifting away from greens toward more of these antiqued finishes.
