NEW YORK -- While the recession may be crimping the overall hot and cold packs market, innovation continues to boost the volume of particular brands.
Modular Thermal Technologies Inc., for one, is achieving strong sales growth with its Cryo-Max 8-Hour Reusable Cold Pack. The product's patented matrix with special cooling modules sets it apart in the cold pack segment, says vice president of sales and marketing Art Pirrone.
The numbers back him up. According to Information Resources Inc., Cryo-Max was the No. 5 brand in the hot/cold packs category in drug stores, with dollar sales up more than 4% last year.
