NEW YORK -- Private label products were on fire in the hot and cold packs category in drug stores last year, posting growth of 78%.
If private label products were considered a brand they would have led the segment with volume of $48.8 million, good for a 38% category share, according to Information Resources Inc.
"Private label heating pads control the category for us," says Hi-School Pharmacy buyer Jerry Boileau. "Price point has been our biggest factor, especially in the last six months."
